Under the overall sponsorship of Pakistan Navy, PNWC conducted the first of its kind “Maritime Security Workshop” (MARSEW) in October 2017. It aimed at enhancing the understanding of maritime sector and the role of Pakistan Navy at politico-military as well as amongst country’s bureaucracy. MARSEW drew fairly large participation from parliamentarians, bureaucracy, academia and armed forces of Pakistan. Split into two phases and extending over fortnight, the first phase of MARSEW involved discussions on various maritime and maritime security related issues. The participants were then flown to Karachi under special arrangements by Pakistan Navy. At Karachi, they visited Pakistan Navy's operational commands and coastal facilities. The high point was visit to port of Gwadar and ongoing work on CPEC project. MARSEW is now an integral part of events in each calendar year.
