Introduction

The Beacon is an annual peer-reviewed publication of Pakistan Navy War College. The Beacon primarily endeavors to disseminate maritime and security knowledge related to oceanic affairs. It also focuses upon other relevant fields of study for wider readership in academic and policy circles. These may include subjects of national or international significance like regional and global security, conflict and conflict resolution, emerging socio-economic challenges to national security, climate change and environmental security and so on.


Mission

To promote impartial scholarly and policy-oriented research in the fields of maritime studies, international security studies, and other contemporary and evolving issues of significance.

Scope

The Beacon Journal aims to promote research on geopolitical, security, and maritime security issues, while specifically encouraging multi-disciplinary research to explain complex multi-dimensional nature of contemporary security issues. It invites scholars, academicians, and policy-makers to present evidence-based arguments and research findings on key geopolitical, maritime and security related issues. The Beacon Journal accepts research based articles that should be conceptually reasoned. The research articles are accepted for publication after rigorous peer-review process that includes the initial editor screening and anonymous or blind review by external specialists of the subject.
